Sorry I've been a bit quiet of late...I've been helping out a friend who broke her ankle, for the last 3 weeks...

Sunny days are such a bonus now that Spring is here....I hope everyone is well and happy....

I spent some time in the hills this week because my 15+ year old Tibetan Spaniel,  Ben was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure on Saturday...

I will have to have him put to sleep soon, and I actually had planned to do it today...but in the last 48 hours, he has eaten more than he has in a week, and is occasionally quite alert...he is not in pain or uncomfortable as far as my nursing skills tell me, so I'm delaying the inevitable for as long as I dare....

the second I see him in discomfort I shall, extremely reluctantly, go to the vet. It's a very sad time, but I'm remembering the lovely times, the 15 years of unconditional love and companionship we have shared. It's a blessing.

Hello...I'm taking a week off for a rest in the hills....
my battle with depression is very difficult at the moment....I'm really getting tired of the constant struggle, but I will soldier on.....

There are many organizations out there that deal with Human welfare.




It's often our animal friends that get overlooked, so I thought I would become a member of World Society for Protection of Animals (WSPA)

I received their first news letter just the other day....they have helped provide a mobile vet clinic and two vets to help prevent lameness in horses in Cambodia.

Also they are helping protect the European brown Bears in Turkey from farmer's traps and guns. This now has the backing of the Turkish government.

There is also hope for the stray dogs in the Philippines thanks to WSPA training vets to neuter strays to help population control and re homing cats and dogs. The key focus is on education, especially for younger people so that they have the knowledge to properly care for animals.

Reading these instances, gives me great hope and comfort that I am helping, even in my small way.

We have domesticated a wide range of animals, who now depend on us. We should never abandon them, always endeavor to be kind and compassionate to them.

I watched the news with a sense of horror, learning that North Korea has been detonating bombs, yet again!

What are these people thinking...their marching in their public squares, reminds me of the horrors of Nazi Germany, not too many years ago.

It is beyond me what goes on in the communal mind of the people of this country....how brainwashed they seem, goose-stepping like automatons....
Frightening.....

We need to meditate and pray for this country, that they might open their hearts and minds to the possibilities of a peaceful co-existence with the rest of humanity.....

Please help me.
